Khloe Kardashian was only 10 years old when her dad, Robert Kardashian, became a courtroom celebrity as a member of O.J. Simpson's defense team. The youngest of the Kardashian sisters, her interests were closer to those of her mom, Kris Jenner, who was the owner of a fashionable L.A. boutique called Smooch.
The divorce of her parents split Khloe Kardashian's time with her birth parents and added a new stepfather (Bruce Jenner) and a slew of step-siblings into the mix. Little did she know that she was part of the first "reality television family." The rest of Khloe Kardashian's childhood was marred by a struggle with anorexia and a sudden weight gain after her father's death, but the support of her family and her fashion ambitions kept her on the fast-track to success. With the help of her sister Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian applied her interest in fashion by renovating the closets of the rich and famous by inspecting them and making suggestions to improve their wardrobes. It was this mix of fashion and business that would shine through in Khloe Kardashian's next project.
khloe kardashian on keeping up with the kardashians and the celebrity apprentice
In 2006, Khloe Kardashian put their fashionable minds together and created D-A-S-H, a clothing and accessories store in Calabasas, California. Within the year, the family found the perfect accompanying tool for cross-promotion with the launch of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, a reality television show about Kim Kardashian and the rest of the family. In only a week, the show netted ratings of more than 13 million people and became one of the hottest reality television tickets in town. While Kim Kardashian was the focal point of the show, the other family members -- especially Khloe Kardashian -- were given their own opportunities to shine.
Khloe Kardashian's experience on the show captured the high points of her social life, business ambitions and entertainment dalliances, but it also shed light on her weaker moments. In the winter of 2007, she had difficulties dealing with memories of her father's passing and acted out by drinking and driving. She joined the ranks of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie with an arrest for DUI and a year later, she was sentenced to 30 days in jail. The actual sentence was reduced to three hours because of over-population issues in jail. Maybe the other inmates just didn't like her fashion advice. On a more serious note, the aftermath of the incident came back to haunt her in 2009 when she heard the famous words "You're fired" from Donald Trump after legal issues pulled her away from a project on The Celebrity Apprentice.

The opening of a new D-A-S-H store in Miami led Khloe Kardashian and Kim Kardashian to the beaches of Florida in 2009 and a brand new reality show to document it all called Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. She also hooked up with the Miami radio station WHYI to become a regular contributor to an entertainment-themed talk show.
In between TV and radio work, managing her new D-A-S-H location and launching Idol White -- a pen with teeth whitening abilities -- Khloe Kardashian found time to return to Hollywood to throw a party in August for brand new Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest. The party was especially eventful for the quickie relationship that was formed between Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom, and by September, there were rumors of an impending wedding. Seeing how quick nuptials could mean quick ratings on the upcoming season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloe Kardashian confirmed the wedding plans and tied the knot with Lamar Odom exactly a month after their introduction.
