Moroccan or Argan Oil

This is the hot product of recent times for hair, and it is second to none for adding elasticity and shine without weighing hair down. The Argan oil is light and smells gorgeous, and it rapidly hydrates hair to protect it and reinforce strength and gloss. You can buy small travel versions to take with you on holiday too - perfect for a reconditioning treat.

Dry shampoo

Over-washing your hair can leave it feeling parched and looking dull. Equally, for those whose manes require extensive styling, the appeal of daily washing whilst on holiday might be lost! So dry shampoo acts as your saviour in between those full washes - adding volume, hold and a slightly mattifying texture to absorb any oils and refresh your style.

Heat protection spray

If you use straighteners regularly on your hair, then you'll know how vital a good protective spray is. Throw sun and sea into the mix and your hair will be more in need of a little extra help than ever! Try styling products like the GHD Thermal Protector spray before applying straighteners and apply liberally. Ideally, try to let your hair dry naturally too upon occasion to maintain its strength. Try experimenting with hairbands and scarves, hats and up-dos if you don't like how it looks au naturel.

Leave-in conditioner

This is ideal for holidays, and will keep your hair knot-free, protected and smooth when you are in the pool or the sea. Apply leave in conditioner liberally after washing, particularly into the ends of your hair. Use a wide tooth comb to gently distribute through your hair and then plait it or wear up to protect from the water as far as possible. Got a holiday hair tips? Share with us on Facebook or Twitter
